英语中it经常是个虚词。使用it意味着句中的实际主语后移。

方法之一：主语前移

如果谓语部分不长，实际主语也比较短，一般可以把主语移前处理。

例如：1、it is exciting to visit your great country.

访问你们伟大的国家，真令人激动。

方法之二：直接从谓语 开始同声传译

主语较长的情况处理起来更困难一些。遇到这种情况，常用的方法是直接顺句驱动，从谓语开始往下同声传译，并酌情进行相应的处理。例如：

2、We all know that it is very difficult to a consensus on a peaceful solution to this conflict.

  我们都知道很难就这场冲突的和平解决达成协商一致。

3、it is important to see our shared interest in maintaining regional peace and promowth.

重要的是要看到我们在维护地区和平和促进增长方面的共同利益。

4、it is difficult necessary to guarantee women full equality of rights in social life as a whole.

有必要保障妇女充分平等的权利，在整个社会生活中都保障这样的权利。

5、it is difficult to believe that he could make such an accusation.

难于想象他会做出这种指控。

6、it would be useful to remind all the participants that there would be a reception this evening after this plenary meeting.

有必要提醒所有与会者本次全会之后有个招待会。

7、it is cmmon sense that a liquid has no definite shape,yet it has a definite volume.

众所周知，液体没有一定的形状，但有一定的体积。

方法之三：预见性归纳

这一点第八节已作了介绍。在谓语部分比较长时，可考虑这样处理。

8、it is therefore in the interest of the industrial countries to adopt structural adjustment policies that will phase out the uncompetitive production of textile and clothing.

  因此，这样做是有利于工业国的；既采取结构调整政策，淘汰缺乏竞争能力的纺织品和服装生产部门。

9、it is certainly useful to hold a seminar devoted exclusively to the role of teaditional knowledge in biological dicersity.

这样做肯定是有益的，即召开一个研讨会专门讨论生物多样化中传统知识的作用。

方法四：替换主语

视情况，可把it 换成其他人称的主语，使句子更符合中国人说话的习惯。例如：

10、it will be very difficult to make a decision without knowing all the facts.

我们很难作决定，如果不知道全部真实情况的话。

11、it is not a bad idea to consider our participation in this research project.

我们可以考虑参加这个研究项目。
